From entry 2D/3D CAD design to VR content creation, the Z1 Entry Tower G5 Workstation from HP is certified for pro software, allowing users to gain speed and efficiency in their workflows. The system is powered by a 3.0 GHz Intel Core i7-9700 Eight-Core processor which can be boosted up to 4.7 GHz utilizing Intel’s Turbo Boost 2.0 technology. The 16GB of 2666 MHz DDR4 RAM helps to ensure smooth multitasking and also allows the computer to quickly access frequently used files and programs. The current memory configuration is 2 x 8GB, which can be upgraded to 128GB by using a 32GB memory module in each of the four 288-pin DIMM slots.

For storage of your files, this system is equipped with a 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD. If you want to add external storage drives, optical drives, printers, memory card readers, or other peripherals, the Z1 G5 features one 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port (front), four 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports (two front, two rear), two 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports (rear), and four USB 2.0 Type-A ports (two front, two ear), one of which doubles as a fast charging port. For users who wish to add additional components to the drive bays, the Z1 G5 features a total of two 3.5″ drive bays, one 2.5″ drive bay, and two M.2 2280 PCIe M.2 slots. Additional internal components can be added using one PCIe 3.0 x16/16 slot, one PCIe 3.0 x4/x16 slot, and two PCIe 3.0 x1/x1 slots.

The dedicated AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card has 8GB of GDDR5 RAM and delivers a sharp, clear picture, while allowing for multiple simultaneous displays to be used via its HDMI and DisplayPort 1.4 outputs. Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, the integrated Conexant CX20632 audio controller outputs high-definition audio and delivers higher fidelity than standard audio controllers. Network connectivity is achieved using Gigabit Ethernet, or install a Wi-Fi card in the empty M.2 2230 slot for wireless access. For optical media, this Z1 G5 has a 9.5mm Slim DVD Writer.

The Z1 Entry Tower G5 Workstation operates using a 500W power supply and includes a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, and a 6′ power cord. The installed operating system is Windows 10 Pro (64-bit).

Windows 10 Pro
Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8’s Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft’s digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Microsoft Edge

Windows Continuum
