Immerse your viewers in 3D audio and 360° VR video with the 360° Spherical VR Camera from AUROVIS. This sphere-shaped camera features nine glass fisheye lenses, real-time video stitching, nine CMOS sensors, and 64 ambisonic MEMS microphones for capturing 3D audio and the entire three-dimensional world around you.
On the outside, the camera’s aluminum and PC-ABS construction protects it from the elements and is rated IP53 for dust and splash protection. It features a USB 3.0 port, RJ45 Ethernet, a microSD slot, an audio line in, and six Panasonic 18650 lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. The camera’s nine lenses feature a 185° wide fisheye view at f/2.2, and it is controlled by a smartphone app that connects via 2.4 or 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
The imaging system relies on nine Sony Exmor R & STARVIS CMOS sensors that record a maximum resolution of 4096 x 2048p30 MP4/H.264 video, and 4096 x 2048 JPG/RAW stills. Time-lapse and image stabilization features assist with the recording quality, and settings such as gamma and white balance are configurable. The system relies on real-time FPGA stitching within the camera using a proprietary algorithm so your footage can be ready to live stream via RTSP/RTMP right from the camera. 3D spatial audio is recorded on its 64 MEMS mics with AAC encoding and 24-bit, 48 kHz sampling.
All imaging and audio recordings are stored on a microSD card or a mobile SSD plugged into the USB port. The camera includes a battery cell, an AC adapter with cable, a carry box, and a protective bag.
FPGA Video Stitching
An FPGA inside the camera can stitch 360° video in real time using a proprietary AUROVIS algorithm. Internal real-time stitching helps create an instant live preview for composing shots and allows for live streaming straight out of the camera.
Surround Audio
The camera records and codes spatial audio using 5th order ambisonics. Sound is mapped in full 360° to 3D video, enabling you to create sounds from any direction and draw the user’s attention to where you want them to look. Spatial audio is essential to VR as it creates a believable experience that matches the user’s senses, immersing them into the video you have captured.
Live Streaming
Plug the camera into your computer via USB 3.0 for 360° live video. The AUROVIS VR camera supports RTMP and RTSP streaming formats with widely accepted H.264 encoding.
Smartphone Application
Download the smartphone application to control the camera and its settings such as white balance, gamma, and time-lapse.
