Elmo LX-NP Classroom ECart Bundle

The Elmo LX-NP Classroom ECart Bundle is a mobile platform and AV equipment kit designed for classroom use. The base of this kit is the PSW ECart with one PS111 switcher that has three HDMI and one VGA inputs; two integrated 5″ speakers; one 25W amplifier; and two slide-out equipment shelves. In addition to the base cart, the LX-NP ECart bundle includes an Elmo LX-1 document camera, and an Elmo CRA-1 wireless tablet.

The LX-1 document camera features a 12x optical zoom, 8x digital zoom, and up to 1080p30 video output via USB 2.0. Use the CRA-1 wireless tablet to annotate and add drawings to the images displayed by the document camera. Together, the AV components in this mobile kit enable you to integrate dynamic multimedia presentations into your classroom.

The ECART-PSW AV Cart from Elmo is a mobile AV platform designed for classroom use. This cart includes one PS111 switcher with three HDMI and one VGA inputs, two integrated, forward-facing 5″ round speakers, a 25W amplifier, and two slide-out equipment shelves. DIP switches enable you to select your EDID settings for customized video and audio display options. Sources can be selected via a front panel button, or via the included IR remote control.

While the ECART-PSW serves as the base unit of several Elmo AV cart combinations, this model enables you to customize the cart by using it with the document camera, projector, tablet, or other components of your choice (available separately).

Elmo TT-L1 Visual Presenter
Connect to HDTVs and projectors and deliver interactive presentations with the compact TT-L1 Visual Presenter from Elmo.

The TT-L1 (along with its Wi-Fi enabled relative, the TX-1) is the follow-up to the Elmo TT-12iD Document Camera and is its official replacement in the popular TT series. The TT-L1 has a smaller footprint but has retained many of the familiar features, such as the positioning of the zoom and autofucus controls on the side of the camera bar. And if you’re only planning to use it in one place, an anti-theft security plate is included that allows you to mount down the device to your desk or other surface.

The HDMI input that was available on the predecessor model hasn’t been transferred over, but its absence has allowed for the slimmer design and smaller footprint. But other than this, HDMI, USB, and VGA outputs are provided on the rear panel. You can output up to Full HD 1080i or 720p resolution at real-time 30 fps via HDMI, up to 1080p30 via USB 2.0, and 1024 x 768 XGA at 30 fps via VGA.

12x optical and 8x digital zoom give you up to 96x zooming capability, enabling you to see things the human eye cannot, such as the fine details of an image you may want to display in class. Moreover, the TT-L1 is adjustable at multiple points so you can point the lens pretty much any way you want. The camera bar swings a full 180° sideways, the camera head can be rotated, and the camera neck can be tilted forward.

The fancy stuff, however, gets done in an included software called Image Mate 4 (downloadable for Windows). You can fancy up your documents with various effects, such as Highlight, Picture-in-Picture, Mask, Rotate, and much, much more. Using Image Mate you can save videos to your computer and capture still images from video streams for analysis using the zoom function.

Among the control buttons on the TT-L1, most of which are also available via Image Mate, are an LED button and Autofocus button. The LED button turns on a light that’s right near the camera lens, and the Autofocus button will get your documents in focus near-instantly when you’re delivering a presentation.

Via the USB output, you can connect to any Windows computer, laptop, or even tablet, such as Surface Pro, to run Image Mate and control the TT-L1. The TT-L1 comes with a North American plug, but supports 100-240V worldwide power input, so you can take it with you to international presentations if you’d like. (Just make sure to use an optional plug adapter.)

The CRA-1 Wireless Tablet from Elmo is a wireless tablet, perfect for use in educational settings. The tablet can operate for up to 16 hours thanks to a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. It communicates with a Windows-based system wirelessly thanks to the included USB transceiver.

You’ll be able to control a digital whiteboard with the tablet, and easily add stamps, text, and images to it via the included software. It’s a matter of ease to switch between control over your computer screen and the image shown on the projector, perfect for multitasking during lessons and presentations.

An optional document camera is available for use with the tablet, which further expands its functionality. When used with the camera, the tablet allows you to draw on the live image captured by the camera, control the camera and its functions, and to create lesson materials that contain real objects and digital images.
