Additionally, the printer also uses UltraChrome D6r-S ink, a six-color, dye-based ink set that produces outstanding images with vibrant colors, intense blacks, sharp contours, and smooth tonal gradations.

Designed for simple loading and unloading, the D870 is compatible with 5, 6, and 8″ roll media on a 3″ core and supports glossy, luster, and matte paper up to 210′ long. Built for demanding production, the D870 outputs a 4 x 6″ print in as little as 8.3 seconds, and for bigger jobs the printer can output 430 4 x 6″ prints in an hour. Borderless printing is available as well in sizes ranging from 3.5 x 5″ all the way up to 8 x 12″. The unit comes with an auto-drying and decurl module that ensures prints are flat and dry right out of the printer, and a high-speed rotary blade provides smooth, single-pass cuts for your prints. To keep your operation running smoothly and efficiently, the D870 has a host of cleaning and maintenance features as well. The printhead automatically detects any missing or misfiring nozzles and automatically cleans them without user interaction, eliminating the need for daily maintenance.
