For audio recording and fast transfers, the Live Planet Studio Kit bundles the comprehensive 360 3D VR Camera with the Zoom H3-VR audio recorder and 20′ Cat 6 patch cable. The Zoom H3-VR features a built-in ambisonics mic array that allows for flexible 360° audio capture. The kit also includes two 128GB microSDXC cards with SD card adapters, USB cables, a MeFOTO tripod, and a multifunction crab clamp to complete the workflow.

The 360 3D VR Camera records and internally stitches DCI 4K30 360° spherical videos captured with 16 lenses. It stitches the images in real time and also allows streaming without any post-production necessary. The camera offers an HDMI monitoring output, micro-USB mic input, and an Ethernet port for fast uploads. Via built-in Wi-Fi, the camera can be controlled remotely using a companion iOS/Android app.

Live Planet 360 3D VR Camera
A fully end-to-end professional-grade spherical VR system, the Live Planet 360 3D VR Camera captures and stitches 360° videos in-camera in real time in DCI 4K30 resolution. The camera features 16 lenses and records the stitched image to a single microSD card instead of one card per lens. Recording and streaming can be done in 180 or 360° mode with no post-production necessary. An HDMI output allows you to monitor the image in DCI 4K30. An Ethernet port is provided for fast uploads, and a micro-USB port is offered for mic input.

Before you begin recording or streaming you can preview your footage live using an optional VR headset so you can make adjustments to your image. Then even during shooting, you can make various further adjustments on the fly using the companion iOS/Android app. Built-in Wi-Fi allows you to control the camera from up to 15′ away.

Your video can be uploaded to the optional Live Planet Cloud and be ready for publishing whenever you need it from anywhere with an Internet connection. Via a simple tap in the provided app, you can publish to virtually any 360°/VR platform.

The camera features a 2.5mm DC barrel power input and comes with an AC adapter. Alternatively, you can connect a brick battery to the 2.5mm port via an optional 2.5mm DC-to-D-Tap cable. For mounting, there’s a native 3/8″-16 tripod thread on the bottom. The camera measures 4″ in height by 4.2″ in diameter.

Zoom H3-VR Handy Audio Recorder with Built-In Ambisonics Mic Array
The Zoom H3-VR Handy Audio Recorder is a compact audio recorder with a built-in Ambisonics mic array offering flexible 360° audio capture as well as integrated Ambisonics A-to-B conversion, eliminating the need for external processing. The device goes well beyond VR applications, and is additionally geared towards sound recordists, audio engineers, and content creators in music, audio-for-video, game audio, and AR production.

It features an Ambisonics mic array with four microphone capsules, which can be utilized to record in Ambisonics, stereo binaural, or standard stereo modes, making it well suited for detailed reproduction of studio-based instrument ensembles and solo performances, audiences, sound effects, EFP, and more. The H3-VR supports full-sphere surround sound recording at up to 24-bit / 96 kHz, as well as real-time stereo/binaural monitoring and on-board Ambisonics A-to-B conversion, eliminating the need for additional processing with a computer in post. You can even export your Ambisonics recordings as stereo, binaural, or 5.1 audio files using the free Zoom Ambisonics Player software (downloadable to a Mac or Windows computer).

The unified single-knob gain control, LCD screen, and transport/menu buttons deliver easy and efficient device configuration and operation. Remote access to transport controls, levels, and metadata is possible via the iOS H3-VR Control app and optional BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter. An integrated 6-axis motion sensor is utilized to provide automatic detection of the microphone position, which ensures proper audio-to-video orientation alignment and simple angle leveling. Dual 3.5mm outputs with independent level control enable simultaneous connection to headphones and a camera. Record to a microSD/microSDHC/microSDXC card (available separately), or stream audio via USB to a computer or iOS device. The built-in slate function can be used to verbally mark takes and manually align audio and video files.

The H3-VR supports powering via two AA batteries or a USB connection, and its power LED also serves as a clip indicator. A 1/4″-20 threaded hole on the bottom of the H3-VR accommodates attachment to a standard camera tripod. At less than 5″ tall and 3″ wide, this recorder is visually discreet and unobtrusive. It is supplied with a foam windscreen, a dual mount adapter, and two AA batteries.
