The Toshiba IK-HR1H is a compact camera head that can be set to output high definition video in 1080i or in 720p. By keeping the camera head separate from the CCU, the camera head can remain very small, an important factor in broadcasting, scientific, medical, machine vision, and various other conventional and specialized imaging environments needing the versatility of a compact camera along with the high quality of HD video.
There are two types of CCUs available for this camera head – the IK-HR1CD with a DVI-I connector, and the IK-HR1CS with an HD-SDI output. Other than their different video output connectors the CCUs are very similar in functionality. Both CCUs offer auto and selectable electronic shutter speeds as well as multi-step gamma and gain control via push buttons on the back panel. There are also a number of selectable settings for white balance to ensure that proper color temperature is maintained under different lighting sources. Both CCUs also offer wired remote control capabilities via an RS-232C connection. The camera head to CCU cable is available in lengths of 3 m (EXC-HR03), 5 m (EXC-HR05), and 10 m (EXC-HR10).
